Our team of young, enthusiastic Activity Leaders takes charge of IPC students for the progamme of afternoon and evening activities. IPC Activity Leaders lead groups in a ratio of 1:18. Wherever possible our afternoon activities' groups are made up of boys and girls from different countries, of similar ages. If students ask to live with a friend in a host family they will be placed together in the same group for afternoon activities.

We look for Activity Leaders who are studying at UK Universities, or have just completed their studies, who have experience of leading groups of young people and of outdoor activities, and a lively interest in working with young people.

Devon in the summer is a lovely place to be and our two half-day trips each week will be to seaside locations such as Exmouth, Sidmouth, Torquay and Dawlish. Our day trip is to Tintagel, the legendary birthplace of King Arthur, which is always popular with students and a memorable place to visit.

SPORT and leisure

You might choose a dance class with our dance specialist, a canoe excursion along the Exeter Canal basin, international football, volleyball or basketball. IPC Olympics is a competition of traditional English sportsday games between the different activities teams - a chance to prove that your team is best and more importantly to work together with your international team-mates.

A chance to dance

Evening activities include ceilidh dancing - traditional dances led by a caller and a live band, the ever popular karaoke and a disco on the final night. IPC Talent Night is an opportunity for students to show off their special talent in front of their new friends. Homestay hosts collect students at the end of all evening activities, as we do not want students to be traveling home by public transport. This is always appreciated by Group Leaders and parents, and gives us peace of mind.
