July/August Residential accommodation at Exeter University
During the months of July and August we encourage teachers who have confirmed places on IPC courses to select the residential accommodation option. We are only able to offer a limited amount of homestay accommodation and the residential option is ideal for more independent-minded course participants.
All rooms en-suite
This year we have secured an allocation of rooms in one some of the best accommodation on the campus of Exeter University. The campus is an extremely attractive setting for your stay and the facilities are excellent. You can select either full board accommodation or bed and breakfast. Priority will be given to teachers selecting the full board option and we recommend it to you in terms of value for money. Places in the residential accommodation are limited and are offered on a first come, first served basis. The accommodation is a 10 minute bus ride from the centre of town and the local bus supplier is pleased to offer extra bus services for IPC course participants.
Your study bedroom offers a useful working space, storage, double bed and an en-suite mini bathroom with shower, basin and toilet. There are a limited number of twin rooms available if you are thinking of bringing a friend or partner.
Bed, breakfast, an evening meal
You will sit down to breakfast and dinner in the main dining area - an attractive glass fronted hall offering tremendous views of the surrounding countryside. You can choose either a full English breakfast or a continental breakfast.
We recommend the HALF BOARD option because during the summer months there is a busy social programme and previous course participants have found it difficult to combine all elements of our programme if they need to go to and from the centre of town to eat their evening meal before joining a social event in the evening.
The University accommodation is a very pleasant 15 minute walk from the Centre of town, or a short bus journey. You will find yourself close to one of Exeter's evening institutions - The Imperial Pub. The Imperial is located in a beautiful former country hotel building. It is always full of locals and has one special rule - no music ! The aim of ruling out loud music in the pub is to encourage the art of conversation - ideal for IPC course participants meeting up with one another or meeting new friends from the local community.
