Showing you the best of Devon and the South West

All of our Teacher Training courses include a programme of excursions that we consider to be an integral part of your course with IPC. Roger Watson, our Senior Guide, has been working with teachers' groups for more than 10 years. Roger takes a real pride in ensuring that you will see the most impressive sights that our region has to offer.

Town Tour

All courses begin with a tour of Exeter - usually on the Monday afternoon of your first week. Our guide will meet you and give you some background information about Exeter before heading out into the city. A guided walk of approximately 2 hours includes entry to our beautiful Cathedral and an introduction to the most significant sites of Exeter. At the end of the tour our guide will make sure you take the correct bus home !

DARTMOOR national park

Dartmoor National Park is one of the largest parks in the UK. It is a wonderful escape from the hurly burly of everyday modern living. This is a chance to enjoy the simple pleasure of nature at her wildest. You might bump into a Dartmoor pony on your trip. If the weather is right you will climb Haytor and Hound Tor and experience wonderful panoramic views of the parkland. And if the weather is wrong ? We invite you to enjoy this beautiful trip and maintain a positive outlook whatever the weather.

Tintagel and Boscastle

On the middle Saturday of your course, we will be hoping to take you to North Cornwall - to the legendary birthplace of King Arthur - Tintagel Castle. Breathtaking scenery and a sense of history make this an excursion that we hope you will remember forever.
