Ben has over 30 years’ experience in international education and language programmes. As School Director, he oversees the strategic and day-to-day management of IPC, working closely with staff and international partners to ensure students receive a positive and well-supported experience. He is actively involved in developing new programmes and maintaining the welcoming atmosphere that defines the school. Outside work, Ben enjoys playing music with his band Southern Troubadors, keeping fit and spending time with his three children. Ben looks forward to welcoming you to IPC in Exeter.
Julie Allen - Director of Studies
Julie trained as a secondary school teacher before specialising in English language teaching. As Director of Studies, she leads IPC’s academic programmes for junior and adult students, supporting teachers and maintaining high teaching standards. She remains actively involved in teaching and course development and is always happy to discuss bespoke programmes with partners and group leaders. Outside work, Julie enjoys swimming, keeping fit and working in the garden. Julie looks forward to welcoming you to IPC in Exeter.
Andy Bungay - Adult Courses Director
Andy began his English language teaching career in 1992, spending several years teaching in Italy before returning to Exeter to work in various local language schools. In 2005 he became Principal of Exeter Academy, gaining extensive experience in all aspects of managing an English language school. in 2024 Andy joined IPC. He continues to maintain a strong interest in teaching and still enjoys teaching from time to time. Having lived in the Exeter area for most of his life, Andy enjoys making the most of the coast and countryside, as well as surfing, 5-a-side football and travel. Andy looks forward to welcoming you to IPC in Exeter.
Vicki Beable - Groups Manager
Vicki works closely with visiting group leaders and coordinates trips and social activities across IPC programmes, helping to ensure students enjoy a varied and well-organised stay. Having lived most of her life in the South West of England — including Devon, Cornwall and Bristol — she is well placed to advise students on what to expect during their time in the region. A former secondary school Modern Languages teacher, she brings valuable educational experience to her role. Outside work, Vicki enjoys adventures and travelling with her family. Belinda Fitton - Accommodation and Welfare Manager
Belinda has extensive knowledge of Exeter and the surrounding Devon area, having lived locally for many years. She works closely with IPC’s homestay hosts to match each visiting student and teacher with a suitable homestay and to ensure that placements run smoothly and comfortably throughout their stay. Her warmth, friendliness and careful attention to detail help to maintain the supportive atmosphere that IPC values. Outside work, Belinda enjoys learning languages and spending time socialising with friends. Belinda looks forward to welcoming you to IPC in Exeter.
Harry 'Hagrid' Duncton - Senior Guide
Affectionately known to students and staff alike as 'Hagrid' for obvious reasons, Harry loves introducing our students to the best places our region has to offer. Guide, teacher, writer, sometime drummer and technology expert, in addition to guiding our school groups and occasional teaching assignments, Harry has taken over care for the garden of our Topsham house. If you stay at the house you will admire Harry's handywork. Harry loves good beer, ceilidhs, good cheer and his special little family. And everyone loves Harry !
