Standard General English Course

The Standard General English course helps students improve their everyday communication skills. Lessons include speaking practice, listening activities, grammar work and vocabulary development.

Classes normally take place in the morning. In the afternoon students can study, explore Exeter or join social activities organised by the school.

Intensive General English Course

Levels and Start Dates

General English courses are available from Elementary to Advanced level. Students take a short placement test when they arrive so that they can join the most suitable class.

Courses start every Monday and classes take place from Monday to Friday. The average class size is between four and six students and the maximum class size is twelve. The minimum age for adult courses is sixteen. Courses are available from one week or longer.

Students receive their course materials and do not need to buy a textbook. At the end of the course students receive a certificate of attendance.
