The IPC Exeter Summer School Course

English Lessons and Activities that Build Confidence

The IPC Exeter Junior Summer School combines morning English lessons with a full programme of activities and excursions. Students improve their English in class and then continue using it throughout the day with classmates, activity leaders and host families.

Our aim is to help students gain confidence speaking English in real situations while enjoying a safe and memorable summer experience in Exeter.

Morning English Classes

Each weekday morning begins with a short meeting with our academic team before students go to their classes.

Lessons focus on speaking, listening and communication skills, helping students feel more confident using English in everyday situations. Classes are lively and interactive, with discussion, group work and project activities.

Students have three lessons each morning:

  • Lesson 1 (09:00–10:15) – grammar and vocabulary development
  • Lesson 2 (10:30–11:30) – communicative activities practising listening, speaking, reading and writing
  • Lesson 3 (11:45–12:30) – project work and collaborative tasks

All teachers are carefully selected, appropriately qualified native English speakers with experience teaching international teenagers.

“Our teacher taught us a lot of new vocabulary and things about British and other cultures. I loved the lessons because he let us have a lot of discussions, which were really useful for improving our English” Giulia, Italy
