For many years IPC has welcomed groups of students organised by teachers from around the world. Many of these relationships began when teachers attended our teacher training courses in Exeter, discovered the city and our school, and later returned with groups of their own students for our Junior Summer School.
Exeter’s small size, friendly atmosphere and safe environment make it an ideal destination for teachers bringing younger students to the UK.
Alongside individual bookings, IPC continues to welcome teacher-led groups, and we are always pleased to hear from teachers who may be interested in organising a group visit to Exeter.
Bringing a Group to IPC
Teachers, schools and educational organisers are welcome to bring groups of students to IPC’s Junior Summer School.
Group leaders travel to Exeter with their students and stay in homestay accommodation alongside them. IPC staff manage the academic programme, activities and day-to-day organisation of the summer school, while the group leader provides pastoral support for their students.
IPC has many years of experience working with teacher-led groups and provides clear guidance and support throughout the process, from initial planning to the students’ stay in Exeter.
Regional Groups
Groups do not need to come from a single school.
Many organisers begin with students from their own school and then invite additional students from other schools in the same town or region to join the group. This makes it easier to build a group while giving more students the opportunity to take part in the IPC Junior Summer School.
Students travel to Exeter together with the organiser and remain part of the same supervised group during the programme.
Support for Teacher Organisers
Teachers who organise a group receive practical support from IPC throughout the process, from planning and recruitment through to the students’ stay in Exeter.
Organisers who bring groups may receive:
free accommodation with a host family
a contribution towards travel costs
a weekly allowance during the programme
Our experienced summer school staff manage the academic programme, activities and excursions, allowing organisers to focus on supporting their students while enjoying their time in Exeter.
